Yesterday some friends and I got to go back to a place that is very special to us, Lac Courte Oreille Indian Reservation. Even though we had just been there about four weeks ago for spring break, this place has a funny way of making you feel like you are coming home. We spent a lot of time in good conversation with many beautiful people, shared a meal with them, collected some sap that was running (in the mud and snow... we're not even going to talk about how I feel about this weather...:)), and were able to learn about the syrup-making process. But my favorite part was getting to experience their drum circle, which was one of the coolest encounters of worship I have seen!
And that prayer in Ojibwe..mm mm! I have so much to learn from these people, and I so deeply care about them. My heart is full.
I’m free to love once and for all And even when I fall I’ll get back up For the joy that overflows my cup Heaven filled me with more than enough Broke down my levees and my bluffs Let the flood wash me.
